Yeah, pretty cool, eh? I was up there earlier today, it was totally worth the three hour walk. Amazing view and amazing light. Glad I brought my camera (I always do, though... ;-)

6 hours of walking that's impressive as is the photo!

Lapsklaus says:

Actually, it's only one and a half hour walk each way, which sums up to a total of three hours. But when you add one hour by car plus a 40 minute ferry ride, it easily takes the whole day. But that compared to all the people we met today, Germans, French, Portugese, Russians, Americans and not to forget all the Japanese tourists, who all had happily travelled quite a distance to get there, I'm pretty lucky to have this place in my "neighborhood"! :-D

i agree that the blues are too saturated and look fake. but i Love the silhouettes and the depth in the mountains... aiiiii... tough call here...

on another look, the silhouettes arent really doing anything interesting. their positions are actually a bit awkward.

geez i could just stare at the depth of those mountains all day though. but... not quite all it could be

@Jeans16: I agree, the view is definately the reward. On a day like this was, one can see for miles and miles. It's so spectacular!
@Leesure: I'm glad, thanks!
@Jalowent: Thanks a lot!
@Sspyndel: Hehe..Appreciate it. Thanks for the save! I'm jealous of all your lovely cats, as I'm allergic to cats and can't have them myself..
@I-fisken: Hahah..thanks for the excellent support. They don't know what they're saying! Ofcourse we got blue light in Norway! Photoshop?! ;-)
@Bratoprat: Thanks, mister!
@Jeff Forbes: Thanks, actually I was unsure of that dead space myself. I spent a long time cropping and recropping until It felt right as a balance..so..thanks for noticing!
@Corgi: Getting non-soft, solid vote from you is a huge compliment, thanks.
@Ourdailystruggle: Now why on earth would you suggest something like that? Go easy on your insinuating. Thanks for the delete! :-)
@Aumbody: Thanks a lot!
@Adman Jamjar: Thanks!
@Findo: Cheers!
@Asad K: It sure is. Thanks a lot!
@Ramonko: Happy you like it, thanks!
@Sspyndel: Thanks. I have too! But still, I can understand that people react. To clear things up, this is photo has ofcourse been postprocessed, but you are absolutely right, saturation is not the key here. The overall saturation is none, I've only saturated cyan and blue a very small tad. And by the way, no this is not the place. They used to jump from here, but now they're only at a place is in the same fjord, which is even higher, called Kjerag.
@Hedgie: Mythopoeic! You got it right! Thanks a lot yourself! And yes, this was my first save. About friggin' time, if you ask me! ;-)

@Ckaiserca: Postprocessing and developing has always been and will always been a part of photography. I believe that it's the final the result that is presented with the viewer that counts. As with all art the path that the artist chose to reach his goal can always be discussed. You're free to express your thoughts at any time, but there are no such rules in either Flickr or DeleteMe that forces the photographer to match the title with the exif data.
@Brilliant: Hey, listen up now. I posted the photo to the pool, someone saved it. Not my fucking fault, alright? Cheat? What about the HDR photos in The Safe? Are they cheats too? And all the converted b&w's? This discussion ends on it's own stupidity. Go take a photo or something instead of bothering me with this.
@Schizo: A shame. Thanks, mate. Love your photos, by the way.

Breno Peck  Pro User  says:

Yeah, yeah, there some really old grunts around here complaining about "too much dead space" or "heavy saturation", as they were Ansel Adams clones. Yeah, right.

Meanwhile, this picture is the cover of the Explore page in Flickr. It's that simple. Period. People like it, it calls their attention, the blue is beautiful and the guys' "awkward" position reminds me of a cartoon, something like Calvin & Hobbes, you name it. I'm about to place a dialogue baloon over their heads.

So, this is a very interesting picture, and it's also beautiful. Let the old runts complain. I wouldn't care a lot about them. Yes, there's a little too much dead space around, and I see halos around the guys. Then I ask myself: should we really care so much about it?

@Breno Peck: Lapsklaus INVITED the old grunts to put nasty comments on his picture. He is probably a masochist, and It helps to get an image on explore. ;)
He'll get endless 'wow' and 'nice' comments from now on, so why complain about a little teasing in a silly game.
Period.
Britney Spears is great. Period. people like her. Period. She draws attention. Period. Who cares if she can't sing. Questionmark.

Lapsklaus says:

@Brilliant-Z-photo: I could've understood such a comment if this photo was still in the DM pool. But why on earth do you bother to show up in my stream and put forth comments like that? For one thing, I smell envy. And secondly, if this photo was ever presented as a documentary shot, a nature shot, a journalistic shot or whatever, then I agree altering the colors would be wrong. But I never did that. I simply took a photo, had fun with it, and when I thought it looked good, I posted it in a group. Nothing more, nothing less. Now what is your problem? It's not like I'm the first person in photographic history to alter the image. And it's not even heavy altering. I use Flickr for fun. You should too.
@Tsjeu: Thanks. I like Britney too. As well as Coltrane, Ramones, J Dilla, Michael Jackson, whatever. I like the music that I myself find good. Same thing with art. It relies on subjectiveness and the feelings of the viewer. It's an endless discussion with no absolute conclusion. Thanks for pointing that out, although I think your comparison to Britney was not meant all that positive ;-)
@ Everyone: Thanks a lot for all your comments. Those are highly appreciated. Thanks again!
