The famous 20th century French philosopher Georges Bataille once gave the raspberry that artists’ love for Picasso’s works was like material admirers’ deep affection for a pair of beautiful shoes. Of course we understand that Bataille isn’t singing praises of shoes, he was just showing his disdain for Picasso. But it doesn’t matter; this French intellectual’s speech of belittling arts with shoes is already a nice comment for some.
