A quick Contre-jour snap of one of the delights of spring in the garden.
Amazingly, considering the low temperature, there is an aphid on the right hand flower!

The new Community Bridge in Pittville Park over the lower lake is tantalisingly close! The landscaping has progressed and the paths have been shaped but the final surfacing is yet to be done.
I reckon that, all being well, sometime next week it might be crossable!

Today's sunset. I was all set up to try to get pictures of the blackbirds eating the apples which are still on our tree but they didn't co-operate! As I was packing my tripod I saw the sunset and realised it looked even more effective through the raindrops on the window. Not really the right lens for the job but we caught the effect anyway.

A tree in Pittville Park, Cheltenham is covered with this saffron coloured blossom in deep midwinter!

We think this is the Cornus Mas, also known as the European Cornel or the Cornelian Cherry.
