Kitty P0rn!

Kitty P0rn! by Tabbymom Jen.
Catnip grows wild in my yard - this year, it likes the sandbox best.

Funny, earlier I was trying unsuccessfully to shoot a dandelion, but couldn't get it in focus. NOW, however...

There was catnip in the yard when we moved in, and it reseeds each year. I never know where it will turn up, but the bush is big and requires no care whatsoever.

I'll have pictures of Victor munching a leaf soon... he was hilarious.

I'm not having any luck re-establishing mine that was killed by strangling from the Evil Vine. I planted new, and the protective fencing was hurled aside and the plant eaten to the ground. (I replaced the protection, and there are some shoots.) I keep finding cat fur on the mesh I put above some potential seedlings. Christa comes in on weekend afternoons with dirt all over her fur--I'm sure she's just rolled on the baby plants. Every now and then I hear cat fight noises coming from the side yard...oh well, at least it's providing entertainment for Boo & Calvin & momma Squirt.

Ah, yes, I have no outdoor cats to ruin my supply. I had a roommate who kept a pot of catnip out of feline reach. When she presented the plant to her cat, she (the cat) smashed her chin into the center of the plant and rolled her head all over, squishing the catnip almost to death. Pure bliss!

My catnip returns faster/earlier than the vines, too. I guess as long as someone is enjoying it, that's ok, but I was pretty annoyed to watch a groundhog snatch my veggies right out of the ground.

It grows wild in my yard to. Very prolific stuff!! The kitties love it though. They roll in it and munch on it at will. Nice photo of it. I have a resident groundhog with babies. I don't know why it is here with all the critters we have around. Cute, but rather annoying at times.
