Bawana
Bawana. A resettlement colony for 75000 slum dwellers who were evicted from the banks of the river Yamuna. The government took 220 acres of land to build Delhi Metro Rail, Commonwealth Games village and the Akshardham temple.
Once evicted only 50% of them were considered eligible to acquire land in Bawana. The rest are homeless.
