Macro shot of a deep purple, tall bearded iris with blue beards and rain drops.
The only post production was to crop my picture using Picnik.

This is the first time in 11 years that I've seen this beautiful purple iris bloom in our garden.

This was one of my most difficult shots due to the color. The purple has black and blue tones and I needed the correct light to get the right tones. I took several shots at different times of the day in order to get the true colors.

Our yard looks like a meadow right now. It's covered in these tiny blue flowers that are called glory of the snow.

The petals of an elegant pink lily resemble ballet slippers as it opens slowly and begins to pirouette in our formal flower garden.

Elegant Casa Blanca lilies from our formal flower garden.
I loved how the sunlight lit up the stigma.
Their scent is so overpowering. I felt intoxicated after taking a few pictures.
