wd~50 (New Menu)
I really enjoyed the food at wd~50 on previous occasions, but had very mixed feelings about both the food and service with the recently relaunched menu. Granted, we tried it only a few days after the new menu had taken effect, but with Wylie nowhere to be seen, some very basic mistakes with service and a seemingly incoherent and unevenly executed menu, I can't say I'll be rushing back anytime soon.

At a restaurant of this level (or one that aspires to a certain level), even basic things like scratched plates and poor/inconsistent plating were very noticeable.

Hopefully they can get back on track soon, but I just don't get the point of the new menu – it seems to de-emphasize what the chef is known for and provably good at, veering in many directions (notably Asia) without any real explanation of why. There were a few very tasty dishes, but most were not memorable, and a few not particularly likable (in my opinion, at least).
