Buddha's Head..... Ayutthaya,Thailand
Ayutthaya is the ancient capital of Thailand. The ancient city is a popular tourist attraction.It's easy to get there on a 3rd class train out of Bangkok. This Buddha's head sitting in a bodhi tree is the only thing left of an ancient statue. I think it's probably one of the most photographed items in the ancient city. There are all kinds of rules posted about what you can and cannot do when taking photos. The big one is.........Do not stand above the Buddha when photographing. It is disrespectful to put yourself above the Buddha.

This is so neat. I'm not sure if the Buddha has been referred to as neat before, but the way the head of the statue is enveloped by the trunks really is neat. Great shot Nancie.

The roots appear to be cradling Buddhas head - I wasn't aware of the PoV stipulation before - but I can certainly understand the reasoning and the spiritual reference.
