Merry Christmas to all Flickr Friends....may the lights of Christmas burn brightly in your homes and in your hearts! by LadyExpat

Merry Christmas to all Flickr Friends....may the lights of Christmas burn brightly in your homes and in your hearts!

I am flying to Kuala Lumpur on Thursday and then onto Bali on December 25th. I'll be traveling around Bali for a month, and then onto Chiang Mai until late February when I return to Korea.

I wish everyone a happy holiday wherever you may be :)

Rudolph by LadyExpat

Rudolph

A shot from my archives. This was take in 2006 as i was getting ready to head out the door to spend Christmas in Taiwan.
Rudolph is 62 years old this Christmas. He was purchased for my oldest brothers first Christmas. He still plays that famous song :)

Tin Hau Temple, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong by LadyExpat

Tin Hau Temple, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

View On Black

This is the back of the Tin Hau Temple located at Causeway Bay in Hong Kong. Taken during my first trip to HK way back in 2003. I love the peacefulness of this shot, and the symmetry between the temple and its environment.

Paduang Longneck by LadyExpat

Paduang Longneck

Explored :) Thank you everyone!

The "Longneck women" are refugees from Burma. One village that has been set up for them by the Thai government is a short drive outside of Chiang Mai. The entrance fee is "hefty" for a tourist attraction in Thailand, but goes to support the Karen or Paduang and also the "Big Ear" tribe.

I went here with mixed feelings, and I left with the same. They are lovely people when you take the time to talk to them. Sadly, I noticed that many of the visitors simply took photos without so much as a "May I" or "How are you?". I can understand why these places are often criticized as being "human zoos".
