The Spring blossoms are already arriving here. I think with our drought and Summer heat, we may have to look to the mild Winter for all our garden color. We just got rain, and I hope that means we'll see even more green leaves and fresh flowers.

This is one of my favorite plants at Zilker Gardens. I like in winter how the fresh green leaves shine around from the carpet of cypress needles.

These seem like resilient plants. Frost destroys their fleshy leaves, they get cut to the ground, and within a very short time a new leaf has uncurled.

I took this little series of photographs in my front yard one day when the sky was clear and beautiful. It amazes me that the tiniest little weeds that grow in the lawn have so much sophistication.

I love weeds. I love seeing a patch of earth growing with whatever life finds its way to it. These were growing in my front yard.

I don't know what these little weeds are called, but are their tiny flowers so beautiful? Here I have the macro fully extended, so you can sense how small these flowers are. I remember these growing in my grandparent's yard when I was little.

Would you call these flowers pink or purple? Or something else?
