i love this detail - so much love! *tears*

It's not yet Mother's Day, but you can't predict when Marcus will decide to return a big sloppy one. And his are VERY sloppy -- and full of teeth!

So here's an early Mother's Day portrait of Crystal and her little boy sharing a kiss!

Brilliant photo, Lou, the one you should be very proud of, even if it were people you didn't know. But having your own dear ones makes it so special. I don't know what you do for living, but if I were you and had a work desk, this shot would be the most prominent feature on it. That's what photography is for, isn't it, to enernalize moments like this. Years from now you may look at this and be just as proud.

By the way, as you've noticed, I'm also becoming more addicted to black frames. I think they add something to the boring and ugly white Flickr background that I hope someday they'll get rid of. What's the fastest process in PS you've discovered to add it?

Thanks a lot, Ivan, especially coming from you. ;) The way I apply a border is by simply using Photoshop's "canvas" function: once for the white border, about 30 pixels, and once more for the black border, about 200 pixels' worth. I'm currently trying to refine a technique where I can apply an imperfect film gate look, which was common during the days of photo enlargers. I'll pass you an example when I come across it again so that you can see what I mean.
