Yes Dr. but he means superior TAPE format. Did you know that after SuperBeta, and it's picture quality improvements over standard Beta that there was a 3rd release called ED Beta (Extended Definition Beta) that EQUALS todays standard DVD?
I wonder tho how Blue Ray and Hi Def DVD compare to laserdisc. After all, HDTV, BlueRay DVD and HD-DVD are all COMPRESSED and LaserDisc is pure native video.......... I haven't seen any spec comparisons on that yet. I wouldn't be surprised if LaserDisc was superior to BlueRay, HDTV or HD-DVD.
