Pictured is me in my night riding gear. I like to be as bright as possible on the road at night.

1. Double spotlight on front handlebars (unfortunately, only one works at the moment)
2. Three Hokeyspokes on the front wheel
3. Christmas Light set around the main triangle
4. Reflective safety vest
5. Rear blinky lights on helmet, seatpost, and vest

They need to be able to see you. to keep from hitting you. So if this is what it take to get you back home, go for it.

-- Cars are *much* more likely to give me the right-of-way by a wide margin now
-- I've gotten complements from friends/acquaintances who have seen me on the road and were grateful that they *could* see me on the road

Riding with lots of lights is fun to me. And if it saves me from getting hit by a car just once it's worth the cost and effort. I don't see a downside to it.
