Grand Cypress

This was shot with an internally modified IR-only D50. White balance was set to green grass. I purchased the IR replacement hot shoe filter from LifePixel.com and installed it myself using their D50 tutorial. It was actually pretty easy, but wouldn't recommend it if you're not comfortable with soldering electronics.

To take full advantage of Flickr, you should use a JavaScript-enabled browser and
install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player.

Man oh man, I just got my converted D50 back from life pixel and took my first shots today. They're Ok but I have to say, this shot is stupendous and I'm gonna have some fun trying to get near it. Are you brave enough to change lenses or do you keep the 10-17 on there permanently?

Actually, you should be honored: your picture made me modify the rules to explicitly allow IR and UV photos. I don't remember ever seeing one suitable for posting. I've already had to reject a number of obvious Photoshop experiments, so it was difficult for me to remove the "new pink grass" rule.

You are broadening my horizons here. I just want to keep the pool about what the camera captures of natural patterns and not about how far you can pull the saturation slider in Photoshop. Maybe when you read the rules, you could give me some pointers about whether I am making the right allowances for IR/UV or not.
