Lonely

Story Of The Image : Well, I begin to like single trees in the middle of the image. Why ? Don't really know but it seem to be pleasant and calming to me. This tree I shot the 3rd time now and this time it was fully sorrounded by fog. Uuuh and how I liked that fog.

There is a great sense of depth provided by the composition with the tracks leading into the image and the tree half hidden by the fog, with the fog providing a wonderful mood at the same time. The b/w conversion reduces the image to structures and composition, which is effective here. I am not sure, though, whether I would prefer a non-centered composition with the tree a bit to the right and the tracks as a diagonal from the left to the right - matter of taste, I guess. :-)

Very cool. It kinda looks like it could be a book cover. I can just see it now with a red banner over the top. Nice shot.

wow, wow, wow. i love this. the gradient is sooo smooth. i can't help but wish for a little less contrast in foreground, but i'm only saying this because you like constructive comments. if this were somebody else's picture, i wouldn't be "complaining" :)

      Hey cooles Bild!!

I get a great sense of place here, I feel the atmosphere of the cold morning, my eye drawn to the lone tree by the track. The tree seems to have a halo, adding to the ethereal quality.

Mice composition, love the effect that the lines produce, looks like the invite for a displacement of the tree towards the right side, yet it's centered. Interesting.

The texture of the ground is very much of my like and the atmosphere is wonderfully pictured.

I agree - single tree on the skyline - can't resist! They seem to be few and far between in the normal places I go around here though.
