Story Of The Image : I was on a photo trip yesterday with my buddy Markus and as always we tried some serious and some more fun stuff. This one goes definitaly with fun and well, I think i like the outcome.

Hi, hi, ja so eine Lichtmalerei hab ich vor kurzem zum Spaß auch mal wieder gemacht. Wobei mein Ansinnen eher düsterer Natur war... wie immer. *G*

Nette Idee mit dem "besten Foto". Allerdings fällt es mir da echt schwer eine Entscheidung zu treffen - alles eine Frage der Betrachtung. ;o)

They think they might be headlights refracted great distances by freak air layers close to the ground, like an optical fibre effect.

This is awesome, Martin! The light and color in the sky is very cool. And of course, the light show by you is just terrific! I also really like the contrast between the vertical direction of the line on the signpost in the background and the horizontal movement of light. This came out very, very well!

Try a different pattern other than sphere, i've seen that a lot. (Although the juxtaposition with the S-curve sign is kinda funny). But what makes this photo pretty cool is matching the light colors (incandescent and sunset) and the added reflection from the road. Very Nice.

my guess on how it was done....long exposure (145 sec according to Tech info) and someone spinning a light source around themselves on a rope (eg flashlight, flare or fireball)....am I close?
