please post a tutorial or something! i got to get this on the n800. i was going to purchase the oqo or ux for web browser and maybe a little RoR practice, but decided that the n800 will do for now because its the cheapest option for an 'ok' browser.

"option for an 'ok' browser."

Its not just "ok", ist astounding and astonishing! Its a real modern browser that doesn't break websites.

It's actually quite easy, I got ruby and sqlite from pierre.droids-corp.org/maemo/ and enabled 'red-pill mode' (google it).

Installed ssh and in the screen shot I'm remotely accessing the n800 via ssh, running rails under webrick.

hi kwe, thanks for the reply. if i understand correctly, the n800 is running webbrick?

you also installed rails via gem on the n800?
-----

im kind of stuck, ive installed ruby and ruby gems, but when i try "gems intall rails" i get the mysterious segmentation fault on yaml.rb:133. I also tried "gem install pierre.droids-corp.org/maemo/gems/rails-1.2.2 .gem " and still got the probelm.

thoughts? any help is appricated!

thanks

did you login as root to do the 'gem install'? I had to do this to get it to work.

hi kwe,
you mean all you did was

login via root
and typed 'gem install rails --include dependencies'
and rails installed?

when i try to ssh root@localhost from the n800 terminal, and type gem install rails, it seems the terminal just crashes.
