After spending the last two autumns in New England, I was really jonzing for my fix of fall color this year. So, last Thursday I popped up to Washington DC for a completely different purpose (blog post coming soon) and while I was shooting the assignment at hand, colorful fall leaves were calling me. I turned to hear them and this wonderful little vignette was smiling and asking for my attention.
This view is tucked away on the back side of the circular reflecting pool at the Korean War Memorial. The overcast sky required a slow shutter speed but generously offered these gorgeous mid-tone colors.
While it was a small, brief, sliver of fall, it felt very satisfying to be able to make this image. Ahh! :)
