    thanks for the idea isto-ica. i doubt my kids will stand still while a bubble floats in front of them but a family portrait reflected in a bubble sounds kinda cool.

    aandhu: i shoot with a Nikon-d70 and set the dial to aperture priority (A) or manual (M) if the lighting scene is mostly fixed. i both cases i set the aperture to wide open (f1.4 on my 50mm) to get a shallow dof. i set the focus mode to center or (spot). i aim for the edge of a bubble to get the camera to focus. choose a calm day (no wind) and try to get someone else to blow the bubbles. a humid day helps too, the bubbles last longer. good luck!
