Cleaning Sand worms

The way you clean them is to take a stick, and basically thrust it through one end of the worm, and all the innards come out the other end. They're basically one long gastronomic tract, and what comes out is mostly sand. I assume they gulp down huge amounts of sand, and filter out anything that's nutrituous.
