The water table was so low that the trenches filled with water, but it wasn't a big deal because we filled them with compacted rock and gravel below the concrete.

The foundation has subterranean beams of concrete so when there's and earthquake the building shakes as a whole instead of shaking apart. Yeah, the trench isn't quite straight, but it was straight enough. We had only two pieces of machinery and two buckets for the backhoe, so we did the best we could. You can't just go to Menard's and get what you need.

Brandon refilling his water bottle. We did this a lot. We went through about 15 gallons of water a day with about 20 people there.

This pipe gave us a lot of trouble, because it had be 4 inches below the surface like the rebar. We had to lower the rebar after it was tied in once, which was a huge pain.
