Got up early to go hiking with Soto, Jaime, and Eileen today. We drove up to the Cuyamaca area to hike up Stonewall Mountain (I think it was called). It was colder than we expected and there was still a good amount of snow (also unexpected)! So we had a snowy, icy, muddy hike, but the weather was really nice.
I had never hiked this particular mountain and it was quite the peak once we got the to top (360 views!). I have this silly fear of heights (mostly because I don't trust my own footing and coordination and am afraid of falling), but today I challenged that fear. I may not have conquered it today, but I certainly faced it and made it to the top. We had some sandwiches and I attempted my 365 photo at the peak, but it didn't quite turn out. I really feel quite silly being so nervous about heights, and I wish it weren't so, but everyone has some sort of fear, right?
After our hike, we drove to the quaint town of Julian for pie (they're kinda known for their pies), followed by an exploration of the old cemetery at the end of town. It was all sunny today, but the cemetery looks really cool and eerie in the fog. I'll have to come back with my old, white, lacy dress when it's all foggy.
Today was a good day :)
Not really sure what's going on here, but I guess it's exactly how it looks... Eileen and Jaime throwing leaves, me with a stick poking a slightly confused looking Soto.
This is the only "true" SP of the day because the rest were hand held by Soto. We forgot to grab the shoe for the tripod and left it on my camera at home :-/
