We went to the botanical gardens today. This guy was hanging out in the Asian garden near the lily pad pond. There was another HUGE dragonfly exploring the area...I swear, I thought it was a bird at first. It was at least 5 or 6 inches long - Gee Wiz! He was very fast and rarely landed...so no proof of this prehistoric flying insect, haha.

I saw 2 today at the garden...but there was no way I could have taken their photo. They're much much too quick.

Certain butterflies also take me to my wits end w/their endless 1000mph fluttering, haha.
