Caesars camera

Caesars camera by John Kratz.
The Caesars camera is surely among the lowest-quality cameras ever made, but the color scheme is kinda cool. It is this combination of characteristics that makes me think this camera was the inspiration for the word "craptastic".

The seller of this camera claimed it was given to high rollers. I don't know about you, but if I was dropping hundreds of thousands of dollars at Caesars and this was how they showed their appreciation, I'd be pissed! :o)

This is the very first camera I bought specifically for my collection.

I've got the Time version of this trashcam, but it definitely lacks the style this one has. Somehow it is very Vegas. ;)

I would certainly have opted for the Time version if I had known it sports the kinetic version of this lens! Drat!

Lens of plastic... *Good times*

You are right, it's really a very nice looking little trinket.

You can't go past bronze-coloured plastic.
It just screams "class".

You're welcome. Thanks for the credit.

I'm curious - of all the cameras here, what made you choose this one?

LOL
Julius is probably turning over in his grave at the fact that such a lousy camera has his name on it!

At least a 1:6 lens. Most of them have a 1:8 one. :-D

I like how the "FIX FOCUS" is "AUTO"....:-0

f1.6 is quite something though. must give great bokeh if you can unfix the auto focus!

I have a camera that this reminds me of...it's some DRT N-1 that I picked up cheap at a thrift store.

There were a ton of cameras like this made -- all with the same basic body style and with similar idiotic things written on the lenses. They're made of thin plastic but usually have a metal weight inside on the bottom, to make the camera feel less cheap.
The most often-seen version would have to be the Time (magazine) camera, given as a gift with a subscription.
Yours has a bit of a different body style, but the lens is a dead giveaway! :o)
