In 1972, Potomac floodwaters from Hurricane Agnes damaged the Slackwater section of the C&O Canal Towpath. That damage has gone unrepaired for 30 years. With the Great Allegheny Passage nearly complete, connecting Washington, DC and Pittsburgh, PA with 350 miles of multi-use, non-vehicular trail, it's about time that this last gap was fixed. Towards that end, people need to be made aware of just what damage there is to determine what it will take to repair.
