For the sake of peace

For the sake of peace by Kombizz.
On May 10th, 2007 after three months of planning and hard working, 14 Iranians embarked on a journey to convey Iranians pacifist message to the world.

We Iranians are peace-loving people.
We Iranians, love all other nations.
We Iranians wish to be constructive members of the international community.

The trip lasted 70 days and started from Rome,Italy and was to continue on 18 more cities in four more countries.

To convey its message and show its determination the team rode certain distances between and within cities on bike. While traveling city by city they also met with the mayors of those cities and presented them with the trophy of peace as a symbol of Iranians good will.
Given the current world affair and the ever growing stream of threats and demonization against Iran and its people , Miles for Peace was an attempt towards change. Hoping to improve what is unfairly associated with Iran and its people. A country which for centuries was the land of the glory and the center of civilization and through out the course of history has embraced a nation of love and faith and sacrifice and bravery.

Despite all the obstacles ,the most important thing about Miles for Peace is that "it happened".It was important for it to happen at this point of time. Although there were tons of things about it that could have been better or might have gone wrong, and even though relative to what is yet to be done, it was just a small attempt , our only encouragement is that it was and is a beginning to the long journey to peace.

Now that we have returned home, moving towards a more structured system , and having gained more support and enriched with lots of experience and wisdom as a result of the trip itself we intend to continue down this road more determined than before.

Miles for peace was just a beginning with a more important and long term plan in mind. The foundation of "Road to Peace" . Road To Peace would pursue systematic and practical ways of achieving a long standing peace for all nations, Iran included.
