Can you tell me if there has been some modifications to the entrance of 大手門 ?
If you compare this photo with another of yours

You can notice that the azalia "hedge" either side of the path have been cut back, and now there is a small bamboo fence. Also the bigger old trees have been removed and small younger trees are now planted. From the dates of your two pictures I guess this was done somewhere between January 2007 and now.

I enjoy your photos very much. I lived in Tokyo between 1985 and 1989, and your photos bring back many good memories for me. Many of the areas you take photos of I remember very well. I lived In Takanawadai from 1986 to 1989, so your photos of that area especially have meaning to me.

It is interesting to see the large changes in Tokyo since I was there. For instance if you see my photos from Tokyo Tower I have put on my Flickr site

and compare to recent photos you can see the many new skyscrapers that have been built.
