Arenbergpark, 1030 Wien (part of Viennese gardens/parks)
part of Gardens of Vienna | Remnants of the ‚English Garden’ (about 50.000 square meters) built in the late 18th century together with a palais by Prince Nikolaus I Esterhazy and revamped during the 19th century by Archduke Charles of Austria and later owners (amongst them the Arenberg family, to whom the parks name refers ). During WWII, 2 anti-aircraft towers were built in the premises. They are to this day a menacing presence in an otherwise quiet and untroubled area of Vienna.
