"The Dog Who Fell to Earth"

This picture somehow captures the alien melancholy of the 70's book/movie "The Man Who Fell to Earth", only Charlie is much chubbier than David Bowie.

good call monk, the wife and i lived in albuquerque (michaela is actually from there) and that movie is one of just a few that was actually shot in albuquerque. charlie's sense of isolation and sadness certainly match the mood of the movie. we also think he's an alien.

"we also think he's an alien."

Biding his time, waiting for the cup of sadness to brim, before unleashing his terrible power, upon an unsuspecting humanity. Howl at the moon if you must, the irony will not save you.

Prose poetry by A. Monk

BTW, read the book, but haven't seen the movie. Recommended?

it may be more interesting to you than it was to me since you have read the book and you can supplement the numerous plot holes in the movie with a more complete understanding of the narrative. visually, it was very cool looking and created a really distinctive and consistent style. unfortunately, it seemed really incomplete and just lost any sense of fluidity by the end. so, all in all, meh.

edited to add: "brother from another planet" is in the same genre of alien fish out of water movies and is a vastly superior film. if you haven't seen that, i highly recommend it.
