THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!

War, war never changes.

The Romans waged war to gather slaves and wealth. Spain built an empire from it's lust for gold and territory. Hitler shaped a battered Germany into an economic superpower... but war, war never changes. In the 21st century war was still waged over the resources that could be acquired, only this time the spoils of war were also their weapons, petroleum and uranium. For these resources China would invade Alaska, the U.S would annex Canada and the European commonwealth would dissolve into quarreling, bickering nation states bent on controlling the last remaining resources on earth.

The end of the world pretty much as we predicted. Too many humans, not enough space or resources to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons, as always, purely human ones. The earth was nearly wiped clean of life, a great cleansing, an atomic spark struck by human hands quickly raged out of control. Spears of nuclear fire rained from the skies, continents were swallowed by flames and fell beneath the boiling oceans.

But it was not as some had predicted, the end of the world, instead the apocalypse was simply the prologue to another bloody chapter of human history, where man had succeeded in destroying the world.


Prior to the war, the United States had divided up into thirteen commonwealths, composed of the previously known entities as 'states'. The Gulf was one of these commonwealths, made up of the previous states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Few Vaults were built in these areas, the government denying funding as they fell further into ruin and disrepair. Resources were cut off and as the bombs hit, the Gulf was one of the first to go. Very few headed into the vaults assuming it only but a false alarm, and as the fire rained from the sky, the south truly fell into it's hellish flame.

Few that managed to make it into the vaults were kept from harm, secured underground and kept from the evil above for years. Vault 89 and 114, were two vaults created in the Gulf, for two entirely different purposes. The unfortunate few who were assigned Vault 89 were subjected to a lack of entertainment and continious torture... and the clear means to off themselves. Safe to say the vault didn't make far. Vault 114 was another story, however, closed off from the world, with the vault door locked from the outside world for 200 years.

They were not the only ones left, however. Many more were around, the ghouls who could not hide out from the blasts, the super-mutants from the FEV. But as time passed, people moved on, they moved up. Slowly repopulating the earth, cities built from the ruins of old. Trading posts, slaver routes, swamps and antebellum houses. All that once was, was again. Nothing ever changes, the attitudes of old just built anew - discrimination, hatred, religion and politics... it's all just the same southern story once again.

Because nothing ever changes, ESPECIALLY the South.

I hope everyone likes it and it lives up to expectations, i'm scared, baha. But really, I hope you all enjoy it and have fun there. Southern post-apoc ftw, y/y?

also, lulz at the new dlc is point lookout in a swamp. i hope they make the mutated croc so I can actually use it's render and not a concept art for it's image. yayzors. maybe expand the swamp areas too :D

But for now it's at it's humble beginings... so go! MUSH ! MUSHHHHHHH!!!!!!
