uh so this is lee ji yeon for tara n phyllis's site, woodgrove valley yepyep
she's an international student from korea at the school there and doesn't speak a lot of english yet.

i made her a few weeks ago but i got supah busy with school and art that i never fixed photos and stuff

ps if you don't know itaweon freedom you're missing out i have been driving my friends nuts with it for the past few months

anyways i hope everyone is doing well! i got into our annual juried show on campus, i got two pieces in and we had the award ceremony friday. Both my pieces were purchased and I got a merit award from the arts and sciences dean too. Now my big thing to tackle is my BFA final art show, which i need to get to work on. hopefully it won't consume my entire freetime between all my classes but it probably will T__T LIFEEE~

I FINISHED! I did not even know I had been working on this that long - since November, apparently according to cbox. I switched several different hosts, tried different forum softwares, three different layouts, life got in the way, blah blah blah, and now finally it's done!

THE VICTORIANS

The year is 1888. The Queen has been in power for 51 years now. England is the most powerful empire in the world. There have been years of peace and prosperity. Yet beneath this gleaming shell of empirical triumph is the rotting truth. The population has continued on a steep incline throughout the past century. The poor are poorer than ever, the slums overflowing from their seams with the sick and frail, the drunk and the poor. Crimes of unspeakable natures continue to happen, the police unable to do a thing to stop it. Sickness claim even the healthiest, children lose limbs in factories and women starve in the streets. The upper classes tower above it all however, standing aloof and ignoring the misfortune beneath them. They continue to wine and dine, dance and gossip, entrapped in their own world of scandal and fortune. The world is fruitful and beautiful to them as ever. They have all they could ever want -- why would they want this all to change?

Change is inevitable, however. The tides are shifting. The turn of the century is approaching and the wind is picking up.

The board takes place starting in January, 1888. The London Season has just begun, which is the time that all the upper class families return from their estates outside London. It is at the same time as when Parliament is in session (since many of these families at the time were in parliament!) During this time the rich and wealthy families have balls, dances, dinner parties, tea parties, visits, and so on. The whole goal is to mingle, and for the young ladies who have just come of age (18), it is when they are formally introduced into society and attempt to find a husband. It's a time of scandal and gossip.

1888 also is another rather important date but I'm sure everyone can figure that out easy if you don't know already ;)

So everyone come join, if you're interested into Victorian history, want a different type of roleplay site to get some variety, or whatever! You don't have to know anything about Victorian history either, I wrote up a few help guides on the site just for that, and feel free to ask me any questions. I'm not an expert but I can do what I can :)

lol ohai been awhile

a lot happened and life got really difficult. family deaths, drama, holidays and confusing men to sum it up. had to take some time off and just keep sane for a bit there.

anyway i had been working on my victorian site before things exploded and now that it's calm i am nearly ready to open it!

these are my two characters for the site officially. Both are upper class but i'll probably be making some lower class people once site gets going :)

these two are:

Lady Lavinia Harrington, who is an 18 year old wife to an old dude in his 50's. His wife died back in childbirth with their son, who is now 20. This old dude (Percy LOL i had to sry.) married Lavinia when she was 16 (he was 48). SEEMS LEGIT. SHES LIKE THE COURTNEY STODDEN OF VICTORIAN ENGLAND. cept she wasn't dropped on her head: she's actually sleeping with the son and has a relationship with him, and they plan to off the dad and take his parliment seat and have a cushy life together as son "caring" for the little widow. Heh.
I'll need someone to play the son :P

and then there is Lord Flynn Waterhouse who is the biggest dick this side of the Thames. He's a budding alcohoholic, and enjoys just playing with girls and stringing them along. He has a reputation of going through each season with two girls and them ditching them once it's over, and then running off to the moors to foxhunt with his bros. YEPPP. His mother spoils him rotten which only feeds into his behavior and he believes he can get anything (and often he can, being filthy rich and all).

I should actually probably have the site done within the next day ish, I just have to type up a few more things (like some brief victorian guides on etiquette/attire/customs, etc.)

hayyyyyyy i hope everyone is doin well

i have gotten over the cusp of hell week (or more like month) so i'm super happy. even if i'm in severe sleep debt from being up for like 30 hours finishing presentations and papers so my brain is fuzzy even though i slept like 11 hours last night GAH

but finally i have had time to relax and so i wanted to draw, because i never get to draw just for fun anymore. i dont even draw really, i'm only painting bugs which i am getting weary of. i have a black widow to finish before tuesday next week but honey badger don't give a shit and nor do i rn. i'll get pics of finished paintings... someday. i hate photographing big art its such a pain, esp when its oil paintings because lights just reflect right off even after its dry sigh

ANYWAY holy shit rambling.

i decided i wanted to draw, and so i did. i did some victorian people but they didnt quite work out. Then i drew Allen and i'm happy with how it looks. not drawing the figure for so long i guess it takes a few tries before you're back in swing again haha. humanz r not liek bugz keitorin~

ps ty for all the comments on my victorian lady, and i have been working on and off on the site in my free time and i hope to have it up in about two weeks ish!
