When I saw the other photos of this I first thought "I wonder if they are setting fire to the top oils?" but then I thought "No, they wouldn't be doing that!".

Yes, with all the intelligent scientific and environmental minds out there, why does it seem that BP and their crew do nothing but choose the most ineffectual "cheap and dirty" clean-up methods possible?
