I have had a butterfly garden for nearly 15 years and I have always hoped that one of these lovely orb weavers would make an appearance some late summer/ early fall. And one day she came. And it was good. Mind you I would scream like an absolute ninny if she got on me but I do love to look.

special tree

I'm getting married under this tree next year. I call her the Younger Sister though she isn't young. She's the second great lady in a place covered in red and white oaks. She presides over an old farmhouse on my parents property.

fall mushrooms

These mushrooms have popped up the last couple of years underneath a large white oak on my parents property. They're so bright and cheerful.

peanut pumpkin

Isn't this pumpkin a hoot? It's called a peanut pumpkin. Purchased it from the cutest little old farmer. By from your local farmers people. They're often just as competitive as the big box stores (if not cheaper as this fella was) but you're also investing in your community.
