Greetings...the hummer is spray painted, it's done by the Tats Cru. It's an ad, and it's huge - about 12 ft x 16 ft (?) I'd guess. It was a tad tricky getting a decent shot as there were cars and piles of garbage parked a few feet away on front.

I live around the block from the ad, and for weeks it was intact, though I didn't expect that to last too long... www.democracymeansyou.com/satire/citizen/humm er.htm

Funny how defacing becomes a part of the whole art. Very striking.

While I completely agree with the sentiment depicted in the defaced comments, I somehow have a feeling that if this thing were powered by a hydrogen fuel cell people would still find something to complain about. 'It's too big!' 'Snob-mobile' etc.

I think more than other gas guzzlers, the Hummer represents elitist snobbery more than fuel consumption and pollution, and that's what gets people's ire up.

Of course, what do I know?

I'll bet that spray paint is not environmentally friendly... meaning there's a huge, fundamental hypocrisy to this "piece".

SUV's suck....so I'm glad someone defaced this wall. The word "sell out " speaks for itself.
If it was in my street I would have some the same thing! DOWN WITH SUV's!!!!!!!!

Was it originally a paid commission, or a parody?
