Thanks,everyone:

Dhania: the dark version is probably much more practical, because it looks (from the inside, and from a couple of scuffed places that were there when the box arrived new...probably from shipping...) as if the pink is just layered over the dark. I have the dark box in the oval shape and love it...never had a problem with it. But the pink I'm handling with extra care because I'm afraid the finish might chip off!

Connecting with Comfort Food: Sakura kit kats are wonderful. If you've ever tasted anything flavored with rosewater, it's about halfway between that and cherry-flavored icing.

Eeeee, I love the idea of using almonds for petals! And I love the sakura shaped boxes. The photos make them look so big, though - how big are they in actuality? With food in it it looks a lot smaller.

I'd say capacity-wise they're about average for an adult two-tier (I accidentally threw away the paper that came with it, or else I'd give you an exact measure). The one drawback is that they don't work well with bands, or at least mine doesn't. They're kind of rounded and slippery and slightly taller than the average box. If I had the dark version, I'd still wrestle the band on, but as it is with the light pink I'm terrified of chipping it. I just have to tie the furoshiki extra tight and hope for the best. Thanks!

Does that yogurt container has something to do with Gerber's baby food? I know, it's a random question but I was looking for a smaller container for my bentos and bought a 2-pack baby banana dessert containers for it [ended up eating them! >.>] and it looks just like that.

It's so cute :). I love both the food and the box, gonna get the same. Do you have problems with fitting in the food with such weird sakura shape?
