I took the shot using one of my Pentax 6X7
cameras using a Poloroid back loaded with
Type 665 (positive negative) film. The film
produces and instant black and white image as
well as a negative. The negative was cleared
using a mix of sodium sulphide podwer and
water. Then a print was made using some
ancient Portrega paper, which had a sepia
cast, the final 8X10 print was scanned in on
another ancient device, a Umax Vist S-12
flatbed, and them slightly enriched using
photoshop.
The info is listed here as a reference to
those who are embarking on shooting with
film. Poloroid 665, and its coresponding 4X5
film, Type 55 are a really great way to get
the instant gratification of digital with the
fantastic viseral quality of Silver Halide
Black and White.

Osiris, Pentax 6X7 with the 105 mm / 2.4 lens
and the macro extension tubes, shot wide open
(2.4) opening a 1/2 stop to compresate for
the extension tube, 30th sec exposure hand

Wow... STUNNING!
The whole composition, plus the
black/brown/white and great contrast. Superb
shot. Well worth the effort you apparently
put into taking it.
This is my very first favourite on Flickr
:) (apart from 1 photograph of me myself (as
in me as the subject) ;-))

1. Fantastic composition. This photograph
stands out from the rest of your photographs
and I agree with Flickr's interestingness
algorithm. Some other ones I'm not sure (yet)
but possibly because I'm not so into women.
2. You are quite a person and fulfill quite
a bit of the qualities I seek for my next
venture. (see first paragraph in SML Wiki: How to unGoogle yourself for details).
4. And, as previously mentioned, you do
need a hub. See: SML Universe
5. Oh god why are you not gay? You'll make
for an ideal husband for me. :) If you have
no idea what an ideal husband is for me,
check out SML Ideal Husbands.
6. Aside from having presence on those
networking sites, I also have domain names
pointing to those sites.
7. I would like to initHHI with you. You
sound way too precious. Do you skydive?
I have not sky dived before, but I have no
fear of heights. Last week I was taking
photographs from a low flying Cessna 172, and
he was bring the plane to almost full stalls
to get some of the shots.
Thank you so much for your compliments, and
you are right, this image does stand out, I
have others from that same time but I have
not posted them on Flickr yet.
Funny, you mentioned the Wiki, I have
started to build a Wiki about 10 days ago,
but I am up to my ass in alligators right
this second, for the next 3 days I am under
water with work, I have several clients that
I am doing a combined SocNetWrkng Viral
Campaigns as well as finishing their
Wordpress blogs, one is a full Gallery WP
integration. I just love Open Source and
open APIs
I will be in the city next Thursday to see
an art opening. We could meet sometime
during the day. I need to check my schedule
and see what time the opening is, it will be
downtown...let me check...SoHo, The Painting
Center, Tibor Freund Opening.
Love toi meet and have a cup o' Joe. Is
that Mexican Place still there on Ave.
Americas and Spring (6th) ?
