Erawan Shrine
Erawan Shrine is right in front of Grand Hyatt Erawan. The hotel in fact is named after it! It was built to appease the local spirit when the construction of the hotel didn't go smoothly and after consulting the almanac, this Brahmin God is the most auspicious. It is very well-known, drawing faithful believers all over asia, as the God is famous for granting wishes. You can walk into the shrine and buy the jolksticks, flower garlands and candle.
The face you walk in and see is for career, and praying clock-wise, the second face is for love, thirst face is for health, and last face is for general good luck. Three sticks of jolksticks, and a garland of flower. There was only a candle given, so I suppose you should put it at the face ruling your wish. Wish with your whole heart and promise to go back to repay when your wish is granted, such as buying wooden elephants, or paying for the traditional Thai dancers at the shrine to entertain the God. Thank you, it is an overwhelming experience to be in the shrine. My wish has been granted, I think, so I need to return to the shrine to repay His good heart.
