Apple pie

A delicious vegan apple pie, made by one of my awesome neigbours.

Needless to say, this was lovely. Mmm!

I asked my neighbour for the recipe and she sent it to me yesterday. Here it is:

Anita's Vegan Apple Pie

- 300 grams flour
- 14 grams baking powder (she used "wijnsteenbakpoeder", but I'm not quite sure what that's called in English, sorry!)
- 150 grams ground cane sugar
- pinch of salt
- 175 grams vegan margarine
- 5 or 6 apples (depending on size)
- 100 grams raisins
- cinnamon (to taste)

Preheat oven to 155 °C (311 Fahrenheit, according to an online converter)

Mix together flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Add the margarine and knead to form dough. Divide the dough in half. Use one half to cover the bottom and sides of a 25-cm baking tin, set the other half apart for now.

Peel and slice the apples. Toss in a bowl with the raisins. Add cinnamon and mix. Add this mixture to the baking tin and spread evenly.

Now take the other half of the dough and crumble it with your hands over the apple mixture to form a crumb topping.

Put in the oven for about 50 minutes.

She made two notes: she used a convection oven and placed the pie at the bottom, on the second rails.
