3/52.2 Mornings

3/52.2 Mornings

It's interesting to view life on a daily basis, starting from the morning. I know I've talked about not having a routine life, but the last week I've had a nice morning routine at least.

I now spend about 20 minutes making coffee, then enjoying it with some rubik's cube. Tamiko gave me the rubik's cube for Christmas! It's fantastic. My first and only rubik's cube before this was completely red. I had convinced my mom to buy me one from a Salvation Army (we were on quite a tight budget when I was growing up), but I didn't realize how it actually worked. I spent weeks trying to solve the rubik's cube that was all red. After awhile my sister told me that it was supposed to have different colors, but I refused to believe it.

Now that I'm a bit older (hehe), I've decided to try to tackle the puzzle. And without going online and figuring out strategies etc. I want to learn it from scratch. So far I've figured that you can easily get one side, and almost as easily get two sides, but the rest of the puzzle can't fall into place with two sides completed. The actually strategy is probably way more complex to come up with, but once you're there it would probably make crystal clear sense.

Life is the same for me this past week. The first few steps seem so simple, yet there's this weird mystery and uncertainty tugging at me while I try to do "tasks" (work, life, etc). I just know what comes next will be incredibly hard, and going back a step or two in order to figure it out will be necessary. It's inevitable, but like a rubik's cube, it's all a learning process.

Life has no shortcuts, and no life is easy. Some harder than others. But it's all how we perceive what we have, and don't have, and accept that sometimes taking steps backwards is a learning process that will only help you in the future.

Outtakes below.

Willa and Natalie

Willa and Natalie

Tim, Amy, Nat, and Ryan came over today for lunch! My sister, brother in law, and parents also came over. Nat really liked Willa a lot, it was cute seeing them interact!
