Ma Osprey is back!!! Lots of action at the nest. I arrived a little after 2pm and one of the other photographers told me about an altercation that had taken place. Involving male and females. Hmmmm, I think to myself.
Shortly there after all hell broke loose. At one point there were 4 Osprey. Pops was there, as was the 'Other woman'. Then one more female. Pops didn't try to kick her out of the nest.
Anyway, Ma Osprey went after the 'Other woman' Osprey. They actually locked talons - then preceded to take the fight into the water.
Later Pops and Ma had a 'bonding' session. Also she encountered a wound on her foot, maybe two, after looking at the talon to talon photo closer. She was fishing ok, and ate her large orange carp.
Have a look at war wound and Female Ma Osprey 2009 season, you can see the distinct pattern under her chin and the necklace matches pretty well too.

I feel sorry for 'Other woman' Osprey- may she find a mate.
