Three Innocents and a Spirit
|
One of the Aspects that keeps me coming
back to volunteering @ WMPG is certainly
great music, people and often surprises
like this troupe of Haitian performers
who came on the French speaking show
after mine.
Three Innocents and a Spirit is a historical drama using mime,
musical soundtrack and historical texts
in English. The three performers are
pictured herein discussing their
presentation, inviting community members
and speaking about the "N a
Sonje" Foundation, which proceeds
from the show will fund their Memory Village, a living history museum in Haiti. They
cover history through the eyes of
Haitians, and using theater, mime, some
props and sound to give a very different
view of a 700 hundred year history of
Haiti.
This tour is the US debut of this
presentation, the first performance was
in Gainesville, Florida First Performance in US
You can read from their online journal HERE
On Chicago Public Radio a piece about
the work of these three artists Audio here .
Being married to a Haitian I am very
interested in their work and perspective
of this culture.
Their descriptions and focus I found
riveting they started this by their DOA/BN association.
