Fjaðrárgljúfur

From my 1100km trip - Since my 24-70L is still in repairs (almost 9 weeks as of 13/7/10), my 16-35L sold, I only had one wide angle lens, a very cheap, manual focus, SMC Takumar 3.5/28 - that little thing convinced my that the 16-35L had to go, the corner sharpness just blew me away.

The pic was shot with 10stop ND filter, a polarizer, and a few step-up rings to make the filters stick - of course I had heavy vignetting because of it, but nothing I couldn't fix in the computer - and to be completely honest, this picture had quite the makeover in Photoshop... but I'm guessing you already noticed. ;-)

Great work! How did you get the reflections in the water, to match the new sky???

Thanks everybody :) @Bliss Images, copy&paste of the above sky, vertical transform, masked in where I wanted to see the reflections.

      may I ask you something?

the Fjadrargljufur canyon, is it easily accessible (and with a normal car, 4wd, or only by foot)?

    16. Kiddi Kristjans 29 months ago | reply

Yes, it's very easily accessible, I was standing on a bridge when I took this photo :) This is how you get there: ja.is/kort/#x=544033&y=363763&z=7&type=aerial...

wow // I just saw the stream of photos via abduzeedo and was like that's not the sky... you earn my flott mynd!! // (I am not advertising my photos but I think it is a very similar technique that I adore as Icelandic bad weather can really ruin fantastic landscape) I tried something similar here:
