Tenaya Lake

Tenaya Lake

From a cold, clear dark night a few days ago . Tenaya Lake in Yosemite Park frozen over but lacking any snow. This is from about 2 hours worth of 4 minute exposures at f4 & ISO 250 plus one 30 second shot at the end (ISO 640) after a few minutes pause to add the little dot on the star trails.

This was a really cold night but quite amazing as the ice made noises all the while....creaking, groaning and singing. Very surreal.

A lovely Tucson sunset from a few weeks ago. Arizona sunrises and sunsets can be amazing events often taking over the whole sky from East to West.

Agua Caliente

Agua Caliente

"Happiness should be like an oasis, the greener for the desert that surrounds it.” ~Rachel Field

This is from a morning where I drove up to see if I could get some misty or cloudy shots of the hoodoo rock formations above Tucson. The storm was still in progress though and the hoodoo area was wrapped in clouds with light snow and very poor visibility. It was quite surreal to drive from the desert and end up in a very limited visibility Winter storm . So...I drove back down and enjoyed a chilly morning at the base of the Catalina mountains. A small group next to me was painting this beautiful scene at the Agua Caliente oasis. Lovely reflections, ducks swimming by leaving trails in the water and puffy clouds over the mountains.
