White-tailed Kite - Lighting study 1 of 2

White-tailed Kite - Lighting study 1 of 2 by amkhosla.
What makes for an attractive flight shot? Simple answer have Doug Lloyd or Don Metzner (aka Hearman) take the shot.

I suppose one clue is to avoid rodents...Rodents in a bird picture are only attractive to young boys, exterminators, and other odd people such as bird photographers (see the first item). Unfortunately I have still to figure it out.

Some people haven't noticed that the right leg isn't a leg, it's a mammal...

One thing I'm learning is that morning light is very attractive to white. It gives white a (literally) peachy glow. See next picture....

if you go out for raptor flight shots again and again, you can not help but want to get some of those "behavior" shots. but it is also wonderful to see them sans prey, in-flight the way you captured this one. superb, ashok!

Great capture.

Btw, I think the direction of the light also make the difference, the early morning light from a much lower angle creat more details on the birds.....

If you consider this a light study, I'd hate to think what you'd consider my photo of a White Tailed Kite! Yikes!
