Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel

Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel by amkhosla.
I've been on a birding trip shooting woodpeckers in Sisters, Oregon, unsuccessful pictures mostly :-( -- When I have bad shooting experiences I always tell myself that I'm earning karma points.

On the other hand..At one point, out of sheer shutter-clicking compulsiveness, I started to shoot anything that moved. One of my photography heros is Arthur Morris - one of our nation's most gifted bird photographers. He keeps saying, "It's not just about birds!" Maybe that's a better way to look at it.

This one's for you Artie.

I share your frustration with unco-operative birds but this is very nice compensation. Wonderful details, especially on the paws. Good work.

I know the pain but Im a bit eclectic so shoot most anything that comes along. Color and DOF really makes this one for me.

If birdwatching--and photography--were easy, it wouldn't be as much fun. This shot is great! Well worth the time spent trying for the bird photos.

Way to go, this is wonderful, feathers get old after awhile, good to break them up with alittle fur, my kids just came back from Black Butte, and Sisters, beautiful area, hope, if your still there, wish you good shooting.
