In the summer of 2011 my family, along with some friends, went to the Creation Science Museum in Big Valley Alberta. On their lawn they had this piece of permineralized wood. This is different from petrified wood as the organic material is not replaced, but just filled by minerals. This is also the most common form of "petrifying." Here is the irony; in opposition to popular belief, this does not take millions of years. If one does a search, it is not hard to find items that have been permineralized in a matter of weeks, eg. The Petrifying Well. So, what does this mean? It means that millions of years are not required to turn dinosaur bones into rock. This is not an exhaustive argument, but it does put a significant hole in the argument that it would take millions of years for dinosaur bones to be solidified.
