Sloss Furnaces

Sloss Furnaces

Sloss Furnaces functioned as a pig iron production facility from 1882-1971. Ten years after its closure, it was designated as a National Historic Landmark. The site is preserved for public tours, concerts, and festivals.

Hodges Chapel

Hodges Chapel

Hodges Chapel, the focal point of Beeson Divinity School at Samford University was dedicated in 1995, although it didn't receive its name until 2002. The inside of the dome contains images of historic figures throughout Christian history, and was painted by a Romanian fresco painter named Petru Botezatu.

Bromberg's on 20th

Bromberg's on 20th

Opening its doors in 1836, Bromberg's is the oldest existing business firm in the state of Alabama. Although this building is now simply a corporate headquarters, Bromberg's has two store locations in the Birmingham Metro Area. Bromberg's is known for its diamonds, jewelry, giftware, fine crystal, china, and sterling silver.
