Wow Kevin - you continue to outdo yourself. Everything is perfect, the focus on the eye, the subject-background separation, the proportion, head position... This one is "Audubon" quality, but it is much more than a "snapshot" as you describe it. Wikipedia should replace the image they have with this one.

Wow! What a beautiful bird, Kevin. Don't know how I missed this one! It is one of my favorite birds too. Your 500 sure did it's job. Color is exceptional, and that up-curved bill is so descriptive of how it eats. You have been posting such great work!
