Red-shouldered Hawk on a fence post near the side of the road. Unfortunately as I slowly approached and stop the van I had miss judged where I was in relation to the sun. I always want to be between the sun and my subject, but here I was about 15 feet short, thus the slight shadow to the right side of the bird. 1D Mark III with Canon 500 mm f/4L from the van with an Arthur Morris window beanbag, aka the BLUBB.
