Six of the beauties were hunting quite close together which was great to see, never a dull moment in this valley because once the owls catch a vole the local Kestral was always trying to steal their catch and did a couple of times, but to beat that the Crows were chasing or dropping on the Kestral so it also gave up the stolen meal :O)
40+ have been seen in the hanging Houghton Valley this year a rare sight indeed,being a Conservation area for Raptors helps no end and i've only just found this out by google search,thankfully i have seen these beauties live again since my first sighting which was last year at Freiston near Boston on the East Coast by the Wash, i spotted four of these beauties last year ;o)
Many twitters hit the area early on in the season and i can see why its perfect if you want to see them live.

A Rare gathering of up to (40+) have been spotted here this year and i'm not surprised because there are large Acres of rough grassland which make it perfect for hunting.

Captured on the 23rd January 2012 at Caldecott Church yard and they were out very early because of the weather pattern.
