this is a lovely image Kent, I like the fact
that the young lad (yours?) is looking away
at the large expanse, I think that provides a
pleasing perspective here

Thanks for all the nice comments... I did
struggle with this shot some regarding the
treatment. The full color shot seemed just
too bright fro the heavy sky and B&W was
a bit too stark, so I went for a desat on
this one. I'm still unconvinced, but this
worked best for now I thought. This is one
of those shots in retrospect that I wish I
would have taken a few more shots on.. I
think that pulling back a bit further from
Charlie might have put him in better
perspective with the landscape to achieve
more of a sense of isolation.
zoom in tight You absolutely nailed what I was going for
here... I was trying to think of an
appropriate title, but just couldn't come up
with one... thanks so much!
Ken Thanks... glad you liked it. And yes, he is
one of my flock. Sadly he is my youngest and
is just growing way too fast!
rowiegrl Thanks...!
David I sure appreciate you dropping by...
Lily Good eye to pick up those windmills... those
darn things are just everywhere around
Bradford & Princeton.

A boy in the country you just can't bet it.
Reminds me of my childhood. Very nicely
composed shot simple and sweet.

I love this shot. It makes my heart smile.
I know exactly how you feel about that
"growing way too fast" thing. Very
fortunate that you have such a talent for
capturing your brood's moments. Thank you
for sharing your family with us.

Don Really nice comment Don, I do appreciate it.
While I love shooting the Southwest, it is
nice to get a chance for a little change in
scenery.

Thanks everyone for the continued nice
comments on this shot..I do appreciate it!
S Pipczynski Thanks for the nomination! I do appreciate
the nice compliment...
pqpqpq I also appreciate you dropping by... you did
a nice job writing up your response, clever
to put it in as the picture... I wouldn't
have thought of that! Don't sweat it
though, that was a pretty rare event I would
guess. Some of the best shots I see are
street candids, they can be so powerful.

I saw this as a hopeful shot. Wondering if
we'll be able to sustain farming years from
now. Thoughtful shot and very perfect in
black and white.
